At Verdura Golf & Spa Resort we have created a culinary experience as unique as the island, with four different restaurants and four bars, plus private dining options, overseen by the famous two Michelen stared Fulvio Pierangelini, guests can choose the perfect venue to suit every occasion.
Food lies at the heart of Sicily, famously fragrant and aromatic, its cuisine is – in Fulvio words – “Simple and sensual” as the local dishes are mainly flavoured with saffron, herbs, olives or lemons and an abundance of fresh ingredients such as honey, almonds and tomatoes plucked from the vines.
Pierangelini is famous for having included pasta with tomato sauce on the menu at the well renowned restaurant Il Gambero Rosso to prove that Michelin-starred food need not be complicated and fussy. “As chefs, we must support the local producers and defend the traditional procedures and gestures” highlights Il Maestro. He continues “The raw ingredients play a crucial role in the final results of a dish” and this is the reason why Fulvio has spent more than six months in selecting the best producers in Sicily. He explains “I choose consciously to love ingredients sourced locally and produced with a deep respect of nature as ingredients are sacrificed for our life and pleasure”.
So in Verdura, Pierangelini has designed a menu in which dishes from the Italian and Sicilian traditions are always new tasting experiences. Fulvio does not interpret well renowned recipes; he uses his passion and sensuality to create emotions. In his dishes the simplicity becomes the final point. This rich Sicilian and Italian culinary heritage is celebrated at Verdura from a family seafood barbecue at the beachside Amare restaurant to a romantic cliff top dinner at Liolá, where you can feast on freshly baked pizza or authentic Sicilian specialities whilst watching the sun disappear into the ocean. For another memorable moment experience Zagara, which offers a fine International dining experience in an exclusive ambience.
The resort has an extensive wine cellar stocked with many regional wines from around Italy and the world.
Children also have their tastes catered for, in each restaurant a specially created menu featuring freshly made favourites that can be served at the table or brought to your room. Buon Giorno caters exclusively for our junior guests at lunch and dinner.
If you want to chill out over a freshly mixed drink, the Verdura’s five bars – set in different locations around the resort – provide a relaxing and stylish environment throughout the day and evening. Guests can take a coffee or a cocktail at La Granita, a drink or two at the pool bar or try a vitamin-packed fruit cocktail in the Spa Bar.
For private dining guests can order from an extensive room service menu, the resort also offers a unique romantic dining experience, in which will set up a table, white linen and candles at your chosen spot in the resort, whether in the gardens or on the beach.
